Unibank is a bank in Armenia serving private clients, entrepreneurs, SMEs, corporate and premium clients. The bank provides consumer and mortgage lending, deposits, card and payment services, international transfers, investment and brokerage services.
Unibank has operated since 2001 under Central Bank of Armenia banking license No. 81. In 2015, the bank was transformed into an open joint-stock company and conducted an IPO on the Armenian Stock Exchange. Unibank maintains an extensive branch network and develops retail and corporate banking, SME financing, private banking and investment services. Its digital ecosystem includes UNIMobile, UniBusinessMobile and Unibank Invest.
History
2001 — Foundation
Unibank was registered in Armenia on October 9, 2001 and received banking license No. 81 from the Central Bank of Armenia on October 10.
2002 — Launch of Unistream
In 2002, the bank launched the Unistream money transfer system, which became one of the early key areas of its retail business.
2015 — OJSC and IPO
In 2015, Unibank was reorganized as an open joint-stock company and conducted a public offering of shares through the Armenian Stock Exchange, becoming the first bank in Armenia to carry out an IPO on the local market.
2025 — Perpetual bonds
In 2025, Unibank became the first among Armenian banks to issue perpetual bonds, expanding the range of instruments available to investors.
2026 — Moody's outlook upgrade
On July 29, 2026, Moody's affirmed Unibank's long-term deposit ratings at B1 and upgraded the outlook to positive.

Mesrop Hakobyan has headed the Management Board of Unibank since November 2017 and has worked at the bank since 2004. Before being appointed Chairman, he held management positions in the card business, retail banking, IT, innovation and operations. He previously worked at Armenian Development Bank and Armeconombank.

Very low quality of service. The customer has to sit and wait for a long time for the cashier to take a break, when neither the website nor the service center indicates the break time. 6 windows are indicated, no matter what time of day you enter, there are always 2 windows serving, and that too by the hour. A visual illusion is created that there are 6 windows serving, but in reality this is not the case. You have to wait for the only cashier to get money. Review your working style, Unibank.

Poor customer service. Long wait time. Visited on 14 August. Had to withdraw cash from account. Picked a number, waited for 45 minutes. Everybody before and after us were served but our number was not called on the screen. Asked the manager why our number is not called. She explained that customers with savings account and legal persons are served first. Then I said we can't wait forever until every new customer will come and get served and you will never call us. She was rude and disrespectful. Service reminded me the poorest service one would get in a Soviet establishment. Will certainly not advise anybody to use this bank/branch.

Yesterday I went to this bank on Kochar Street. I received number 025, June 23, 2022, 4:13:03 PM. I went to the first cashier to receive a Unistream transfer, and they told me they didn't have any dollars to issue. I said, "Then issue the transfer that was sent in rubles." She opened the transfer and said, "In translation, your last name is written as Gulyan in Russian, but in your passport it's written in Armenian as Ղուլյան։." I asked her, "Is there a letter Ղ in the Russian alphabet?" She and the man who was standing with her at the cashier said, "In translation, it's the letter G." I never received my transfer from this bank, but today I received the same transfer from another bank. How do you think the last name Ղուլյան is written in Russian?
